The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) Committee supports the development of arts and culture across the Mackay region. Committee members provide recommendations to Council on how RADF funding is distributed and help ensure funding decisions align with local arts priorities.
What is RADF?
The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), established in 1991, is a highly successful state and local government partnership that supports the creative community living in regional Queensland. The Program focuses on the development of quality cultural, heritage and creative practice for and with, regional communities.
Role outline:
RADF Committee Members serve as community-focused representatives who support the development of arts and culture across the Mackay Regional Council area. This voluntary role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to regional creative growth, mentor local artists and promote equitable arts investment.
Role outline and expectations:
- Review and assess RADF grant applications
- Provide advice on funding priorities and local arts and cultural needs
- Support fair, transparent and accountable decision‑making
- Mentor successful applicants
- Bring local knowledge, lived experience and sector insight to discussions
Committee members are expected to:
- Participate respectfully and constructively in decision‑making processes
- Declare and manage any conflicts of interest
- Keep application information confidential
- Act in the best interests of the wider community and arts sector
